What makes me different

When we started out, one thought was clear in our minds: we didn't want to be a 'me too' venture. Our 'strategy canvas' summarises the ways in which we are different from the large commercial cosmetic surgery providers in the UK.


We often have a waiting list of several months for an Advanced Mini Facelift (although you can opt for our premium Fast Track service if you wish). Note that this situation is exactly the opposite of the high street cosmetic chains where surgery is widely advertised as being available at short notice for a discount. It is worth taking a few moments to reflect on the implications of this difference. Neither do we shout about our availability by advertising on the back of buses. In fact, we do not advertise other than by a web presence as nowadays most of our patients come to us by personal recommendation.

We also have limited geographical availability. We only provide consultations and treatment in Bristol, not via a scattered network of small 'clinics', offices and hospitals throughout the UK. Although this does mean our patients do have to take the trouble to travel to us, this local approach enables us to maintain much tighter quality control.

Transparency and integrity

We aim to be totally open and honest about what we do. We display our current prices on our website (and honour them!) and also host an open Forum for patients whose contents are not edited in any way. Our surgeon will give you a totally honest and frank opinion at consultation, not just tell you what you want to hear or try to persuade you to have unnecessary treatment. A large part of our success rests upon successfully managing patient expectations, so for us honesty has definitely proven to be the best policy.

We also actively encourage prospective patients to meet and talk with patients who have recently undergone surgery and this can usually take place at the time of your initial consultation. We also strongly encourage people to seek second or third opinions from other providers. Only by doing this can you be satisfied that you have made the right decision - one you will live with forever.

Personal approach

We operate with a very small team so that just one person will deal with your enquiry, make arrangements for your consultation and treatment, and sort out any concerns you might have along the way. You will also only ever see the surgeon who will do your operation (or the doctor who will provide your non-surgical treatment) at your initial consultation, not a 'nurse counsellor' who has never actually performed the operation. It is very important to us that there is a strong feeling of mutual trust between surgeon and patient, so much so that we occasionally refuse treatment to people where we sense that this is lacking.

Competence and experience

Our surgeon is without doubt one of the busiest and most experienced face lift surgeons practicing in the UK at the present time. Whichever surgeon you choose for your face lift, you should satisfy yourself that he is currently performing an absolute minimum of twenty face lifts per year (our surgeon performs at least 150 per year). You should also reassure yourself that he can provide you with robust information as to outcomes and complication rates. For some surgeons, a face lift is one of the most difficult operations they perform. For our surgeon, it is one of the simplest and most straightforward.

Value for money

There is more to value than price alone, although we do strive to keep our prices as low as possible. We do this by using innovative techniques, working efficiently, passing on savings on hospital costs directly to patients and by not being greedy! We see value as being a combination of a realistic price, good service, positive outcomes and an indefinable 'feel good' factor. We also incorporate a number of proprietary features in the way we treat our patients, underscored by what we feel to be fair, generosity of spirit and innovation.


Here is where we really come into our own! For example, our Consultant Surgeon was the first person in the UK to be trained in the Quicklift technique. Almost all of our face lift procedures(including full facelifts) are carried out under sedation and local anaesthesia rather than general anaesthesia. As far as we are aware, we were the first cosmetic surgery provider in the world to host an open access Forum for patients. In addition, we have developed a number of proprietary benefits for patients that you can only learn about by coming to seeme for treatment.
