My husband stayed at Downlands House while I was staying overnight at the Spire Hospital after surgery and he was perfectly happy there. It's only one mile from the hospital so is easy to walk to. Parking is a problem but he asked permission to park in the hospital grounds, which was fine, as long as he left the car's details in Reception. He was in a room up two flights of stairs, which was fine for him because he is fit. Anyone wanting to stay after surgery should ensure they're on a lower floor.
