I had the advanced mini facelift in November 2013. I was generally pleased with the overall effect afterwards with a good improvement in my jowells. However, the scars particularly on my right side are still very visible with what I can only describe as quite large and crude stitch marks which have not lessened over time. Because I have long hair which I never wear up this did not personally cause difficulties for me in terms of hiding them. However, if I wanted to I would not be able to wear my hair short or put it up.
The lifting effect held for around 2 years after which I noticed a marked slackening which happened quite quickly (I had not lost any weight or been ill), and then my face continued to drop quite a bit with the reappearance of my jowells which was quite distressing. I am now saving for a full facelift to ensure I get a longer lasting effect, and hopefully also revise my scars.
If you are seeking a subtle effect that will last for a couple of years then the advanced mini facelift may be a good option for you. However, this must be balanced with the cost, undergoing the surgery, and possible risks including scarring. From looking at some of the posts on the forum I can see that other people have also experienced problems with scarring from the procedure.
With hindsight from my own experience I would not have had the advanced mini facelift but would have chosen a full facelift as this would have lasted much longer and been more cost effective.
